Awesome tools for a motion designer's workflow

Creative Thoughts Generate Great Ideas
There’s a common misconception that there’s a secret to coming up with great ideas for artistic projects. However, a good motion graphics artist doesn’t need tricks or miracles. They only need a few simple exercises to begin generating creative thoughts of their own.
As a new motion design artist, you can be forgiven for thinking that there’s some hidden secret to coming up with great ideas for videos. However, that isn’t actually the case at all. You don’t need miracles or tricks to generate amazing concepts. All you need is your own creative thoughts.
It’s best to think of creativity as a muscle. How do you strengthen any muscle? By exercising it of course! So you need to give that creative muscle a regular workout to give it the boost it needs to become a champion.
Of course, not all the motion graphic examples that you come up with will be good. In fact, some may be downright bad. But that’s ok because it’s all part of the creative process. The key is not to be deterred from trying again and coming up with something new. One bad idea doesn’t mean all your ideas are bad!
What kind of exercises should you practice to enhance your creative muscles? Freewriting, role-playing, challenging assumptions, reversing problems, and considering analogies are all helpful tools in your motion design toolbox. Start practicing these skills and soon they’ll become second nature, helping you to become an even better motion design artist.
